Welcome to LASER
LASERZURICH is a creative incubator that bridges the gap between the arts and sciences. We provide a platform for public dialogue, emphasize intersections, and foster mutual understanding. Our goal is to facilitate discussions that not only highlight new inventions and discoveries but also address innovative ideas that are often difficult to articulate even within their own disciplines.
Through collaboration with social scientists from Life Science Zurich, we have developed a research approach that is experiential, educational, and playful. This partnership results in publications as well as specialized community events.
We are committed to equality, human rights, and environmental justice. Our speakers include artists with experience in scientific laboratories and those engaged with current scientific research.
About LASER
LASERZURICH is part of the global LASER Talks series, sponsored by Leonardo: The International Society for Arts, Sciences, and Technology (Leonardo/ISAST). Founded in 2008, LASER Talks now take place at more than a dozen locations worldwide, including Zurich, the University of San Francisco, Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, New York City, London, Tacoma, Toronto, Montreal, and Kansas State University. Leonardo/ISAST is a nonprofit organization that supports a global network of esteemed scholars, artists, scientists, researchers, and thinkers through its programs focusing on interdisciplinary work, creative endeavors, and innovation. Since its inception, Leonardo/ISAST has served as a virtual community for networking, sharing resources, best practices, research, and events in the fields of art/science/technology. The organization is renowned for publishing the Leonardo Magazine through MIT Press.
